Privacy Policy
EzyResto is a point-of-sale application used by restaurant staff to take orders, send them to the kitchen, and settle bills. It is provided by PSquare to restaurants, who run it on their own tablets and phones. This policy explains what the app handles, why, and who is responsible for it.
Who is responsible for your data
EzyResto is a business tool. The restaurant that deployed it decides what data is entered and how long it is kept, and is the data controller for its staff and customers. PSquare hosts and maintains the service on the restaurant's behalf and acts as a data processor. Questions about a specific restaurant's data should go to that restaurant; questions about the app itself can be sent to the contact below.
What the app handles
| Who | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Staff | Name, work login email or username, phone number, role, and which outlets they work at. An optional profile photo chosen from the device's photo library. | To sign staff in, show who did what on an order, and limit each role to the screens it needs. |
| Customers | Name, phone number, email and a delivery address โ only when a staff member enters them for an order. | To attach a bill to a customer, avoid duplicate customer records, and support delivery orders. |
| Orders | Items ordered, table, timings, discounts, cancellations, and the method of payment (cash, card, UPI) with the amount. | To run the service, print bills, and produce the restaurant's sales and tax records. |
| Expenses and receipts | Money paid out at the till: the amount, its category, who recorded it, and an optional photo of the bill, taken with the camera or chosen from the photo library. The logo the restaurant prints on its receipts, chosen from the photo library. | To keep the restaurant's expense records and print its receipts. |
The app does not process card payments itself and never sees card numbers. It records that a payment was made and by which method.
What the app does not do
- No advertising, no analytics, no crash-reporting or tracking SDKs. Nothing is sent to third parties for marketing or profiling.
- No location data is collected.
- No microphone access. The camera opens only when a staff member chooses to photograph a bill for an expense, and photos are only ever ones a person picks or takes.
Notifications
If staff allow notifications on a device, the app registers that device to receive alerts about the restaurant's work โ for example a new order, food that is ready, or a new version of the app. To do this the app creates a push token, a random identifier for the app on that device, and stores it on the restaurant's server together with the staff member, outlet, role, device type and app version it belongs to.
Alerts are delivered through Expo (expo.dev) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. They receive the push token and the alert's text in order to deliver it. Notifications can be turned off at any time in the device's settings, and signing out of the app removes that device's registration.
Sign-in and device features
The app stores a sign-in token securely on the device so staff do not have to log in before every shift. On devices that support it, Face ID or fingerprint unlock may be used to protect that saved sign-in. Biometric data is handled entirely by the device's operating system and is never seen by, stored in, or sent to EzyResto.
Where data is stored
Each restaurant's data is kept in its own separate database on servers operated by PSquare. Data in transit between the app and those servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Restaurants are separated from one another; one restaurant's staff cannot see another's data.
How long data is kept
Order and billing records are business records and are kept for as long as the restaurant's account is active, and afterwards as required by law (for example, tax record-keeping). Staff and customer records can be removed by the restaurant at any time from within the app.
Your choices
- Staff: your account is created and managed by your employer. To correct it, ask the restaurant's owner or manager. To remove it, see Delete your account or data below.
- Customers: to have your details corrected or removed, contact the restaurant. Their staff can delete a customer record from within the app.
- Profile photo: you can change or remove it yourself from your profile.
Delete your account or data
- Staff: ask your restaurant's owner. They remove accounts from the app's Staff screen: an account that has never taken an order is deleted; one that has is deactivated, so it can no longer sign in, because the restaurant's order records name who took each order. If you cannot reach the owner, email us at the address below and we will pass the request to the restaurant.
- Restaurant owners: to close your restaurant's EzyResto account and delete its data, email info@procraft.ae from the owner's registered email address and name the restaurant. We confirm with you by email before anything is deleted.
Deleted: staff accounts, customer records, the menu, photos, and the devices registered for notifications. Kept: order, billing and tax records that the law requires the restaurant to keep, including the name of the staff member on each order, for as long as that law requires.
Children
EzyResto is a workplace tool and is not directed at children.
